Welcome to 2020!

GHTANT has planned an exciting series of events for 2020! We'll release our calendar very soon, but we do have a Central Australia workshop coming up in 7 March, and a Darwin-based conference for humanities teachers who use the Australian Curriculum.

New for this year is the Final Week Wednesday social events - the last Wednesday of each term is set aside for an easy-going professional learning event followed by dinner. Details on our events page soon!

Welcome humanities and social science teachers! The Geography and History Teachers Association NT exists to help current teachers - and our supporters - to improve the quality of HASS teaching across the Northern Territory.

We are an association of volunteer teachers contributing their time for the benefit of others. We'd love you to join us - ideas and inspiration are always welcome!

With a membership of approximately 50 teachers (and growing!) GHTANT exists to support and encourage Territory educators in the teaching of the humanities.

Coming Events

With the support of the Professional Teachers Association NT, we provide professional learning events across the Territory, and provide scholarships for national conferences.

Membership is $50.00 for Individuals and $100.00 for Institutions, rolling for 12 months. To join or renew, visit our membership portal hosted by TidyHQ.

We actively encourage our members to embed national and NT competitions into their programs for the benefit of Territory students.

News and Updates

We provide periodic updates of GHTANT and affiliate news through email updates and our newsletter, Tiwi to Todd. We very much welcome contributions from members!

A work in progress, we are keen to establish a members-only space for sharing resources to enhance teaching, learning and assessment for Territory students in the humanities.
